Description

MIFEOBS indicates whether or not mifepristone is observed and in stock on the day of the interview, as well as if it does not stock mifepristone. MIFEOBS also describes whether the facility uses the mifepristone to induce abortions, treat post-abortion complications, or as post-abortion care, or whether the facility sells mifepristone. This variable is a combination of several variables in the original data.

MIFEOBS is a combination of several variables, but the availability of component variables differed across samples. For example, in Uganda 2018 Round 6, facilities were not asked if they sold mifepristone, but only if they used it for abortion or post-abortion care. Therefore, we do not have the level of detail to determine facilities that were in stock of mifepristone for purchase.
