This is a 4-digit numeric variable that represents a number of staff, except for the following codes:

9994 = Not interviewed (SDP questionnaire)
9997 = Don't know
9998 = No response or missing
9999 = NIU (not in universe)

Description

CERNURSENUM reports the number of nurses or nurses credentialed by the state employed by the service delivery point.

The question associated with this variable was included in the service delivery point questionnaire.

Comparability

For some samples, CERNURSENUM is only asked of service delivery points that are certain types of facilities. See universe tab to identify samples and facility types.

In some samples, this figure could also include midwives and nurses. Not all samples specify that the nurses are certified. See the Questionnaire text tab for more details.
