Description

CHILDRENDIEDNUM reports the number of sons and daughters to whom the woman gave birth who have died. SONSDIED reports just the number of sons who have died, and DAUSDIED reports just the number of daughters who have died.

The related variable CHILDRENDIED indicates whether the woman had ever given birth to a child who was born alive, but later died.

The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire. For maternal and newborn health questionnaires, this question was included in the 7-day followup questionnaire.
