For women who are currently using an IUD or implant, and who have at least one close female friend aged 15-49 (see FRIENDNUM), FPDISCFRND1 indicates whether the woman discussed her use of that contraception with her "closest friend".
While the woman could report more than one friend with whom she discussed this matter, her "closest friend" was defined as the woman with whom she is most likely to confide, in general.
The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.
