Description

For women who are currently using an IUD or implant, and who have at least two close female friends aged 15-49 (see FRIENDNUM), FPDISCFRND2 indicates whether the woman discussed her use of that contraception with her "second closest friend".

While the woman could report more than one friend with whom she discussed this matter, her "second closest friend" was defined as the second woman with whom she is most likely to confide, in general.

The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.

Universe

  • Uganda 2018 Round 6 Female and Household: Women aged 15-49 who are currently using an IUD or implant and have at least one female friend aged 15-49 living in the same country who they confide in.
  • Uganda 2019 Female and Household (R6 Follow up): Women aged 15-49 who are currently using an IUD or implant.
