Description

For women who are currently using an IUD or implant, and who have at least three close female friends aged 15-49 (see FRIENDNUM), FPDISCFRND3 indicates whether the woman discussed her use of that contraception with her "third closest friend".

While the woman could report more than one friend with whom she discussed this matter, her "third closest friend" was defined as the third woman with whom she is most likely to confide, in general.

The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.

There are no comparability issues.

Universe

  • Uganda 2018 Round 6 Female and Household: Women aged 15-49 who are currently using an IUD or implant and have at least one female friend aged 15-49 living in the same country who they confide in.
  • Uganda 2019 Female and Household (R6 Follow up): Women aged 15-49 who are currently using an IUD or implant.

Availability

  • Uganda: 2018-2019
