Description

For women who are currently using an implant as a family planning method, FPIMPREMOVEYR reports whether the woman has tried to have the implant removed in the past 12 months.

The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire and the maternal and newborn health baseline survey.

Comparability

In three samples (Burkina Faso 2016 Round 4, Ethiopia 2017 Round 5, and Kenya 2016 Round 5), women who tried to remove an implant in the past 12 months (FPIMPREMOVEYR) reported if the person trying to remove the implant was a health care professional or not. In other samples, this detail is not provided. These data reflect the original PMA data, without any editing by IPUMS.
