Description

For women who are currently using a family planning method and have used at least two other family planning methods in the last two years (since September 2017), FPPREVMETH2 reports which method the woman used just before her most recent method.

Enumerators were instructed to not include the current method use, and to only select the current method type if the woman used it continuously, stopped, and restarted during the 2-year period.

The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.

There are no comparability issues.

Universe

  • Ethiopia 2019 PMAET Female and Household: Women aged 15-49 who are currently using a family planning method and have used at least two other family planning methods in the last 2 years.
  • Uganda 2019 Female and Household (R6 Follow up): Women aged 15-49 who are currently using a family planning method or have used at least two other family planning methods in the last 2 years.
