Description

For women who were told by their providers about possible side effects related to the use of their current or recent family planning method, FPSESWITCH indicates whether the woman was told by her provider that if she experienced these side effects she could switch to a different family planning method.

The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.

Universe

  • Ethiopia 2020 Round 6 Female Follow-up: Women aged 15-49 who or whose partner received a family planning method at a government hospital, government health center, government health post, family planning clinic, NGO, private hospital or clinic, mobile clinic, other public health facilities, or health extension worker.
  • Uganda 2018 Round 6 Female and Household: Women aged 15-49 who are currently using or have used in the last 12 months a family planning method excluding Standard Days/cycle beads, LAM, rhythm method, and withdrawal and were told by their provider about possible side effects related to the use of their current/recent method.
