Description

For household members who had been enumerated in a longitudinal household survey, HHMEMSTAT reports whether the household member was still a resident of the household in the follow-up survey, and if not, the reason why. The person could have been still a resident, moved away, died, or the interviewer might have been unable to find knowledgeable household members or neighbors to determine that person's status.

The question associated with this variable was included in the household questionnaire.
