Description

LINENO is an IPUMS-constructed technical variable that numbers all persons within each household according to their order in the original data. The variable LINEORIG reports the original line number of a household member. The main difference between LINEORIG and LINENO is that values in LINENO are without duplicates and have been corrected when numbers in LINEORIG were skipped.
