This is a 2-digit variable that represents how long (in days, weeks, months, or years) the woman has been using the current family planning method without stopping, except for the following codes:
95 = Not interviewed (female questionnaire)
99 = NIU (not in universe)
Description
For women who used the same family planning method prior to the facility visit as the one they received on the day of the interview, PREVMETHDURVAL reports the total duration that the woman has been using her current family planning method without stopping. Values are reported in days, weeks, months, or years.
The variable must be used in combination with PREVMETHDUR to determine the exact duration in which the woman has been using the method without stopping.
