Description

For a woman who has ever sought surgery to regulate her period because of a suspected pregnancy, REGSURGLOC indicates where the surgery was performed. This variable excludes women who sought surgery after trying other methods to regulate their period first; for women who did so, see REGLASTSURGLOC.

If the woman has ever had an abortion to terminate a pregnancy, this variable refers only to a suspected pregnancy after the most recent pregnancy that was aborted.

The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.

There are no comparability issues.

Universe

  • Women aged 15-49 who have ever regulated their period because of a suspected pregnancy (following their most recently aborted pregnancy, if applicable), and who sought surgery to do so.
