SEHEARDWTLOSS reports whether the woman has experienced or heard about weight loss as a side effect of a contraceptive method. The universe of this variable includes all women who reported having experienced or heard about any side effects of a contraceptive method: this includes current, recent, and past users of contraception as well as women who have heard about but never used contraception.
Users should be careful to distinguish this variable from FPSEWTLOSS which indicates whether the woman has experienced weight loss as a side effect of using a contraceptive method, and FPSENOWWTLOSS which indicates whether the woman is currently experiencing weight loss as a side effect of a contraceptive method. SEFEARWTLOSS indicates whether the woman is concerned about weight loss as a side effect of a contraceptive method.
