Description

TOILETTYPENUM reports the number of toilet facility types used by members of the household.

Respondents are read a list composed of different types of toilet facilities, and they are asked whether or not members of the household use each type. The values in TOILETTYPENUM are then automatically calculated by the Open Data Kit (ODK) Collect software used by the PMA2020 interviewers based on the responses to this question.

Note that rather than expressing the total number of toilet facilities available to the household, the values in TOILETTYPENUM reflect the variety of toilets used by a given household (e.g. a value of "1" in TOILETTYPENUM does not indicate that the household only has access to one toilet, but that household members use one type of toilet).

The question associated with this variable was included in the household questionnaire.
