Description
TOILETTYPES is a PMA-recoded variable that reports whether the main toilet facility used by members of the household is shared by at least one or more other household.
This recoded variable reports the shared status of only five different types of main toilet facilities used by a household from the variable TOILETTYPE using information collected from another question within the survey. The other toilet facilities available in TOILETTYPE are not divided into shared or not shared, and in some cases, the toilet type response options are combined. The shared status of the each main toilet facility can be found in integrated variables ending in SHAREYN, such as PIPESEWERSHAREYN or PIPESEPTICSHAREYN.
The questions associated with this variable were included in the household questionnaire.
Comparability
As this variable is a recode of an existing variable, see TOILETTYPE for information on how the comparability of that variable changes across samples and time. The range of available response options to the question associated with TOILETTYPE changes across samples and over time.
