Description
VACHPVEV indicates whether the woman had ever received the HPV vaccine.
This variable combines responses from two interview questions. The woman was first asked whether she had ever received a vaccine against HPV. If she responded "No" or "Don't know", the interviewer was prompted with additional information about how, in Ethiopia, the HPV vaccine is also referred to as cervical cancer vaccine and is commonly given at school or at a medical facility to girls between the ages of 9-14. The interviewer is then instructed to provide this information and then ask again whether she had ever been vaccinated against HPV.
The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.
