Description
For women who visited a health facility in the last 6 months, HLTHWAITMIN reports the number of minutes the woman waited before seeing a health care provider.
The information in HLTHWAITMIN is constructed from HLTHWAIT, which reports a specific unit of time i.e., minutes or hours, and HLTHWAITVAL, which reports the specific number of minutes or hours the woman waited. For women whose response was originally recorded in hours, these cases were multiplied by 60 to estimate the number of minutes they waited.
In HLTHWAIT, women could also report that they gave up and left the health facility without seeing a health care provider. These cases are coded as "Not in universe" in HLTHWAITMIN.
This question is included as part of the Primary Health Care module, which is included in certain female questionnaires. These questions pertain to the woman's attitudes towards and utilization of health care services.
The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.
