Description
Among the various ways that women in her community might induce an abortion to remove a pregnancy, ABORMETHHERB indicates whether a woman aged 15-49 identifies one available option that involves traditional methods (e.g. herbs).
The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.
Comparability
In the Burkina Faso 2021, Democratic Republic of Congo 2021, and Niger 2022 sample, the question does not specify whether this method was available to women in her community, rather whether it was a way a woman could remove a pregnancy. Further, in the Burkina Faso 2021, Democratic Republic of Congo 2021, and Niger 2022 sample, the question specified that the traditional material was not inserted into the vagina, but the Nigeria 2018 question wording simply stated "traditional methods (e.g. herbs)".
