Description
If the woman's closest friend has ever sought surgery to regulate her period because of a suspected pregnancy, and if she sought surgery only after trying other methods first, REGLASTSURGLOCFRND1 indicates the location where she sought the surgery. For women whose closest friend sought surgery as the first or only method used, see REGSURGLOCFRND1.
If the friend has ever had an abortion to terminate a pregnancy, this variable refers only to a suspected pregnancy after the most recent pregnancy that was aborted.

Universe
- Women aged 15-49 whose closest friend has ever regulated their period because of a suspected pregnancy (following their most recently aborted pregnancy, if applicable), and who sought surgery to do so after trying other methods first.
