Description
For women who were either currently using or whose most recent method in the past 2 years was the pill and had ever stopped using the pill for a short amount of time and started back up again, PAUSEPILLDUR, together with PAUSEPILLVAL, reports the length of time the woman stopped using the pill before starting again.
Note that this variable reports only a specific unit of time i.e., days, weeks, months, or years, not the actual duration of the interval. The specific number of months or years is reported in PAUSEPILLVAL. Users must use both PAUSEPILLDUR and PAUSEPILLVAL to determine the exact amount of time the woman stopped using the pill before starting again.
The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.
Universe
