995 = Not interviewed (female questionnaire)
996 = Not interviewed (household questionnaire)
997 = Don't know
998 = No response or missing
999 = NIU (not in universe)

Description

AGEMONTHSLOW reports the child's or woman's age in months. AGEMONTHSLOW differs (AGE) in that it is calculated from the child's reported birthdate. When the month of the child is unknown, AGEMONTHSLOW gives the least number of months old the child could be given the child's year of birth.

IPUMS rounded these values to the nearest integer, and recoded negative values as zero (less than a month old).
