Description

BFSTART, together with BFSTARTVAL, reports how long after birth the woman started breastfeeding her last child.

Note that this variable reports only a specific unit of time i.e., hours or days, not the actual duration of the interval. The specific number of months or years is reported in BFSTARTVAL. Users must use both BFSTART and BFSTARTVAL to determine how long after birth the woman started breastfeeding her last child.
