Description
CABLETV indicates whether the household has cable TV access.
Respondents were asked to report what assets the household owned in order to calculate a wealth index based on assets. This information can be found in the variables SCORE, WEALTHQ, and WEALTHT.

Apart from slight variation in question wording, CABLETV is largely comparable across samples. Most commonly, the survey asked "Does you household have: A cable TV?"

The Round 3 and 4 surveys asked "Does your household have: A subscription to CANAL?" CANAL is an international subscription TV service with multiple TV and radio stations in French; CANAL+ includes channels in additional languages, such as English.
