This is a 3-digit numeric variable that represents a number of staff, except for the following codes:

994 = Not interviewed (SDP questionnaire)
997 = Don't know
998 = No response or missing
999 = NIU (not in universe)

Description

CERNURSEPRES reports the number of nurses or nurses credentialed by the state present at the service delivery point at any time during the day that the survey was collected.

The question associated with this variable was included in the service delivery point questionnaire.

Comparability

The universe of this variable differs among samples, as there are universe restrictions based on the facility type (see FACILITYTYPE). See the Universe tab for more detailed information on the specific universes for each sample.

In some samples, this figure could also include midwives and nurses. Not all samples specify that the nurses are certified. See the Questionnaire text tab for more details.
