PLOUGH indicates whether the household has a plough.

Respondents were asked to report what assets the household owned in order to calculate a wealth index based on assets. This information can be found in the variables SCORE, WEALTHQ, and WEALTHT.

The question associated with this variable was included in the household questionnaire.

Comparability — Index

Apart from slight variation in question wording, PLOUGH is largely comparable across samples. Most commonly, surveys asked whether the household had a plough in general, although other samples asked about specific types of ploughs.

Comparability — Niger [top]

In the Round 1 and 2 surveys, the question asked whether the household had an "animal-drawn plough."
