PREGTIMETYPVAL
Typical time for a woman to become pregnant (value)

This is a 2-digit variable that represents length of time (in days, weeks, months or years) except for the following codes:

95 = Not interviewed (female questionnaire)
96 = Not interviewed (household questionnaire)
99 = NIU (not in universe)

Description

PREGTIMETYPVAL, together with PREGTIMETYP, reports how long the woman believes that it typically takes for any woman to become pregnant from when they begin trying.

Note that the codes in this variable are not reported in a specific unit of time (days, weeks, months, or years). Rather, the unit of time in which the woman responded is reported in PREGTIMETYP. Users must use both PREGTIMETYP and PREGTIMETYPVAL to determine the exact amount of time the woman reports as typical for this time period.

The question associated with this variable was included in the female questionnaire.
